About Beau

Beau has always worked within the creative field in some form, after completing her Bachelors she worked as a model, dancer, photographer, and hyperrealistic portrait artist. Having lived what seems like many different lives already,  this colourful existence is where she draws much of her inspiration. Beau's work has changed a lot over the years. Finding that she needed another form of expression to translate her thoughts, she opted for abstract art. This became a form of communication that she rapidly fell in love with. Having an obsession with the nature of reality both from a scientific perspective and the more spiritual side, her pieces bridge the gap between theories such as chaos theory and the unnamed emotions felt universally that connect us all. Created intuitively with no end vision in sight,  they become a collaboration between her intuition and the marks forming on the canvas, capturing a single event in time, a piece of the universal puzzle from a single point of view. The idea behind them is to show the unquestionable beauty in the seeming chaos of our universe and reality, within which there is still structure, geometry and an understanding of the balance between space and form. Beau's pieces, although free form structures, with somewhat childlike, naive mark making, are still considered, purposeful and intentional. Working in various mixed media, she is focused on creating imposing, emotionally provocative works, with a use of colour that beckons the viewer to look deeper.

Artist statement

"I have always had  something within me that I have needed to express, it can feel like such a compulsion because if i don't transmute it in some fashion I feel unbalanced internally. Over the years the subject matter has changed but I eventually realised that I am in a constant state of searching for answers that no one really has, answers regarding the nature of reality and the human experience. I am in awe of the ever changing, seemingly structured chaos that we all live in, both in the small scale and the universal, our inner world and the worlds beyond those we can understand. Our entire lives are a continual line of events, actions and reactions, all enmeshed together over space and time and i find that fascinating. Through my art I try to make that intangible concept tangible, to give form to the emotions and vibrations of life and the unending repetition of cause and effect in an attempt to greater understand them, and to hopefully connect others with these unseen feelings that we all somehow share".
